The USAF is gradually declassifying its older FME programmes. As it does so, I will post new details as and when I receive them.

Hi David

Well, I think that this is a good start.

I have been told to expect the imminent declassification of three or four other HAVE FME programmes, so the availability of raw material will gradually improve.

I am also expecting HAVE IDEA to be at least partially declassified in the near future (I filed a FOIA for it about 18 months ago and am told that it is in the final stages of declassification) , which should make telling the story of the years prior to CONSTANT PEG considerably easier.

Cheers

Steve

Was there a special program for the MiG-23BN like the HAVE PAD for the MiG-23MS?

"Have" was a AF Systems Command general project designator.  The second word was the specific projec itself:  "Donut", Pad, "Quick", "Boat", etc.

Until a program is officially declassified - it has to stay classified. People take their security clearances seriously.

There is always a lot of speculation  - internet bar talk if you will - about this and that.

Some is pretty wild and some maybe not.

Folks who "know" will keep it to themselves until things go through the sometimes cumbersome and lengthly formal release / FOIA process.

Hi David

Good timing!

I received the first of, hopefully, several HAVE IDEA reports this week. This was HAVE DRY (1973 exploitation of F-15A vs. MiG-21F-13). I also received HAVE FOAM a few months back but have the document in storage and can't scan right now.

Still waiting on HAVE COAT and HAVE BOXER...

Cheers
