On page 60 of the hardcover edition it states that Gen. Creech was the TAC commander in 1977.  Wasn't it still Gen. Dixon?

I just checked the official Air Force Bio http://www.af.mil/information/bios/bio.asp?bioID=5110 and you are correct.

Creech became TAC CC on May 1 1978.
